1. Introduction

Welcome to AlterWorld AI. This policy explains how we handle data when you use AlterWorld: Word by World, including AI Lens, Reader, Guest Mode, account sync, and user reports.

2. How We Handle Your Data

A. Image Analysis (Lens): When you use AI Lens, the current image is securely transmitted to AI providers such as Google Gemini or OpenAI-compatible services for immediate analysis. AlterWorld uses the result to show vocabulary, explanations, and conversation prompts.

B. Document Processing (Reader): EPUB and TXT files are parsed locally on your device. AlterWorld does not upload your entire book file. Only selected words or sentences and nearby context are sent to the cloud when you request translation or explanation.

C. Content Safety & Reporting: If you use the "Report Issue" feature to flag inappropriate or incorrect AI content, we store the reported conversation snapshot and related context. This data is used for safety and quality review.

D. Account Data: Guest Mode keeps learning data on your device. Registered users' account and vocabulary data are stored in Supabase to support sign-in and sync.

3. Third-Party Processors

We share only the data needed to provide the service with trusted infrastructure providers:

Supabase: Authentication, account data, synced vocabulary, and report storage.
Google / OpenAI-compatible AI providers: AI inference for image analysis, translations, chat, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech.
RevenueCat: Subscription entitlement verification.
Stripe: Secure web payment processing. We do not store card numbers.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Registered users can request account deletion in the app through Profile settings. The deletion flow removes the Supabase Auth user and associated cloud records covered by database cascade rules, subject to operational, legal, backup, and payment-record limitations.

5. Children's Privacy

AlterWorld is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If discovered, such data will be deleted.
